Here's an MTV interview with Tupac about the rich people (like Trump) making society worse off. This man was spittin' truth 30 years ago about problems we still have today. 😎
I just... can't. I can't hear about anymore picks. I know he's assembling a twisted 'Dark MAGA' cadre of election deniers and sycophants and I know it's going to be a clown show. I just can't hear about it anymore. Can we just have the holidays to NOT think about this mess. I promise we can all cry together in January, but let's just (for the sake of our sanity), put all this shit aside for a month. 🙏
Him: "You see, your boy Trump won?" Me: "He's not my boy, I'm sure you voted for him." Him: "Yeah, does that make me the enemy?" Me: "No, it just makes you the majority apparently." Him: "Does that piss you off?" Me: "I'm done being pissed off. I'm upping my meds." Him: "Hahaha!! Did you see who he's making the surgeon general?" Me: "I don't know, probably Barron. Who cares anymore?" Him: "Don't be like that. He's gonna be great!" Me: "For who? Other than Elon, I mean?" 😕
One thing this election taught us is that the concept of 'Never Trumper' Republicans only exist on TV and there is literally NOTHING #Trump can do to lose the support of the GOP. While the far left decided to 'protest vote' the ENTIRE right wing acted in lock step (pun intended) to re-elect a tyrant. This country is truly broken. 🇺🇸
People don't want to hear this, but to my fellow working class progressives: You have more in common with working class conservatives than you do with wealthy liberals. Setting cultural politics aside, you have similar life experiences, you run into similar issues and you have similar struggles. I just want you to keep this in mind while the political elite continue to try to divide us.
We need to get away from RED v BLUE and fight the REAL fight: RICH v POOR. 🇺🇸
You guys, I just checked the other timeline (the one where Biden got elected in 2020 and then immediately began seeking accountability for #Trump's insurrection). He kept all his promises and allowed the party to have a robust Primary election.
It was incredible. The best candidate won the nomination, voted in by the people. They beat the only candidate the Republicans could get (some poor excuse for a Trump impersonator) in a landslide. They are celebrating over there. 🇺🇸
In Alaska and Missouri (two states that went for #Trump) voters approved a minimum wage hike to $15 an hour and a paid sick leave law allowing workers to accrue time off.
Nebraska voted overwhelmingly to approve paid family leave and Alaska also passed a law to ban captive audience meetings.
These are progressive policies, popular among BOTH sides and the Dems wouldn't touch them, choosing instead to buddy up with their donors and raise record funding. 🇺🇸
She also ran on the mediocre accomplishments of the previous administration (one she had little to do with), alienated the progressive side of the party by steering clear of issues that might piss off donors and buddied up to the right wing to prove she could be bi-partisan... and she lost.. twice...
If #Trump wins this election, he's not going to last much longer and that means President Vance will be free to execute #Project2025 with all the Trump loyalists by his side, making sure there are no guardrails or obstacles to the #MAGA agenda. 🤮
#ElonMusk gets in trouble for his $1 million dollar voting scheme and the way he gets away with is by coming clean in court that the whole thing was rigged and the only winners have been his employees.
You have to really have a screw loose to trust a word from this guy.. also.. we have a serious mental health problem in this country we need to address once all this weirdness has passed.
There's a reason why a THIRD of the eligible voters in this country don't vote and it's not because their 'lazy' or 'can't be bothered' or are 'privileged' or whatever other shit people want to say about non-voters.
It's because they believe their VOTES DON'T MATTER and you can't blame them. Right now, the Republican legislature is trying to fix it so the delegates in NC go to #Trump, based on some BS about the hurricane. The electoral college HAS TO END. 🇺🇸
Just a reminder that ending the electoral college will make it so the 'popular vote' is the one that matters. It would increase voter turnout massively as people would actually believe their vote matters.
Also, stop blaming disenfranchised voters in a system designed to disenfranchise voters.
You can have your own opinions. You cannot have your own facts. Centrists are not the enemy. The far left is just as annoying as the far right. If you pick a fight with me or get all 'um actually' on me, I'm just gonna block you. Admins are not your friends and I lost my last account for not being far enough to the left, so don't fuck with me. I'm speaking from a LOT of experience. Radical changes seem great in theory, but real progress takes time.
