Trauma doesn’t end when the event is over. It reshapes the brain, the body, and the way we relate to the world. And when it’s not healed, it gets passed down.

That’s why kids who were beaten sometimes grow up to beat their own kids.
Why cycles of abuse, oppression, and war repeat in the same places.
Why a nation born from genocide can eventually commit one.

Unhealed trauma becomes legacy. What we don’t repair, we repeat.

This bill is going to cause a recession or worse. During times of great layoffs, people have traditionally either returned to college, or gone to college for the first time, in order to change careers in order to survive. This bill, with the changes to student aid, drastically reduces the chances of someone being able to do that. This bill is literally about keeping people in shitty jobs while the “elite” pay no taxes and reap the benefits of slave labor.

My daughter learned today that she’s been awarded a $30k scholarship to go to graduate school in Europe (she’s getting a master’s in Forensic Medicine and Anthropology before med school). She’s worked so hard for this and I’m so proud of her, and I am SO FUCKING RELIEVED that she’ll be out of here for a while!!

I feel like I’m going throw up. I’ve watched my daughter work her ass off as a pre-med student. What is going to happen to all these scholars? What is going to happen to our medical ststem?
