#GitLab users: how to connect "issue Foo" as child of "issue Bar"?

1. In a GitLab issue, there is a section to add a "Child Items". So I'm putting an issue in this input box, but it appears an error called "It's not allowed to add this type of PARENT item. What. I was trying to connect two issues, so this should be the child, not the parent.
