What did they do when Apple tried to remove Progressive Web Apps across the EU with just three weeks' notice, forcing them to fight to save the company, employees, and customers?

We are glad to support the Social Web Foundation (SWF). SWF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting social platforms using the open standard protocol, ActivityPub. It’s great to see increased support of the Fediverse, and Vivaldi is pleased to support the Social Web Foundation so that we can once again have a town square free of algorithms and corporate control. https://vivaldi.com/blog/social-web-foundation-launches-supported-by-vivaldi/
We pride ourselves in listening to our community, and your feedback helps us improve Vivaldi. :tony_wee: But let’s get real, it can be challenging to get your brilliant thoughts to paper (even if digital), and sometimes feedback can get lost, like a comment on social media getting lost amongst thousands of notifications.
👉 That’s why we’re saving a space to literally listen to you during our next Community Talk!

Norwegian Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum has proposed a global tax on personal data, inspired by Norway’s resource rent tax model.
Your personal data is not a resource to be misused but a critical asset that must be protected. Taxing the usage (or misusage) of personal data won't address the real issue: the unchecked power of Big Tech.
By taxing the utilization of personal data for economic gain, politicians send the message that the way Big Tech exploits personal data is deemed acceptable. It’s time for meaningful action to safeguard our digital rights.
Regulation must come before taxation. Read our take on the Norwegian Minister of Finance’s proposal 👇
