Got told by a friend this week "Good to hear from you, whether you are cosplaying normal or not."

There is a lot to unpack there and it's all pretty accurate.

So prior to joining beige.party, I was on historians.social. And when I joined Mastodon, I was on mastodon.lol (until Nathan rage-quit). I gotta say (Beige Bless 🇧🇧 ) coming to this server was the right call. Like, I actually look at the Local feed, and enjoy my fellow weirdos, and get to cheer them on. It's the closest thing to Livejournal I've had since and it's helping me live through our objectively terrible hellscape reality.

But! Just for the record, it is totally not a cult! 😉

There are two kinds of people in the world:
1) Those that join neighborhood WhatsApp groups so, when their groceries are misdelivered once a year, they can eventually get that sorted.

Or...

2) Those who would rather forgo sustenance and gnaw on left-over cardboard that once contained groceries rather than get a bajillion messages on any given day about who is selling expired baby food on Facebook Marketplace.

I have had some feels today over unfollowing a few people. People I liked, a lot actually, but who have been absolute idjits regarding COVID and vaccines.

COVID is still with us. Vaccines and masks are needed. Improved ventilation would make all our lives better.

Presuming COVID caution is an over-reaction because some humans survived plague or flu in centuries past ("and here we still are") is uneducated at best and propaganda at worst.

All the people who are gobsmacked at Kamala bringing the win, because "[X] couldn't bring the debate home. How could she?"

Motherfuckers, she's a prosecutor. She does this in her sleep. Donald is a dog she just walked all over that stage. Stop being surprised that she is equipped, capable, and goddamn magnificent.
