It's incredible that this is the first time I've seen any story in the press acknowledge that the Democratic Party organs that run its primaries can unilaterally impose whatever campaign finance regulations they care to during the selection process for general election candidates.
Up and down the ballot they've been swearing empty promises to overturn Citizens United (somehow! rarely explained!) since the ruling came down in 2010. Wilding vs. DNC was seven years ago.
Since the Wilding vs. DNC ruling eight years ago I have been waiting for Bernie Sanders to point out the obvious: if the Democratic Party is a private organization that can restrict "speech" in its primaries however it likes then it can unilaterally satisfy its own platform plank and unilaterally overturn Citizens United during them.
The constant barrage of fundraising spam about overturning Citizens United recycled from big donor money is really embarrassing.

Biden tells Stephanopoulos "who’s going to be able to hold NATO together like me? ... a good way to judge me, is you’re going to have now the NATO conference here in the United States next week. Come listen. See what they say."
And the press obliges him by going to NATO leaders to farm anonymous quotes about how he's falling apart.
Not doing himself any favors. I hope somebody somewhere is thinking about how to stage manage Kamala's ascension.

Trump's flight from his own platform is a clown show:
"Trump's own Make America Great Again, Inc. super PAC is running ads highlighting Project 2025"

Great Scott there's a fourth Brent Bozell!?
Why does anybody take the right's allegations about paid activists seriously when anyone on the right who is not a billionaire is on a billionaire's payroll? The Brents being obvious cases in point, along with at least half of the Supreme Court.
The outside agitators at Columbia were a chat group of 100 right wing billionaires, executives, and Israeli officials organizing police riots through the board of trustees and mayor's office.

Israeli whistleblowers from the Sde Teiman concentration camp told CNN how Israeli doctors "amputated prisoners’ limbs due to injuries sustained from constant handcuffing; of medical procedures sometimes performed by underqualified medics earning it a reputation for being “a paradise for interns”; and where the air is filled with the smell of neglected wounds left to rot."

The Domestic Security Alliance Council didn't need to coordinate the police riots -- like the Obama administration shut down Occupy Wall Street -- when these were coordinated between college administrations and Congress live on CSPAN:
"escalating to a military response [to student protests] nearly immediately, at barely a provocation or no provocation?—in the 1960s... would have been inconceivable"

It's pretty funny that NoLabels is still a thing while RFK Jr is polling at 20 percent same as qanon and the antivaxxers.
The $10,000,000+ dollars Adam Schiff spent promoting Steve Garvey and MAGA looks like it was well spent.
If you turn green hydrogen into ammonia fertilizer on site like I suggested you've solved the transportation vulnerability of hydrogen.
I'm not sure any of this is particularly responsive, but in the same spirit I did want to joke that if I didn't want to read error riddled rehashes of Population Bomb I can just turn to any of our national dailies to enjoy the equal and opposite panic over declining birth rates.
We are not remotely this dependent on natural gas to produce nitrogen fertilizers: you can inject green hydrogen near the end of the Haber process, skipping the methane cracking step by cracking water instead. Haber is only the dominant process because of its enormous externalities.
It is baffling how these peak oil guys can keep a readership when every other claim of fact is a howler. Like, are gas prices really "getting higher and higher"? Who has time for this stuff?
I feel like I am the only person who ever noticed the irony with which the Obama administration defended arming the Saudi et.al. invasion of Yemen on humanitarian grounds. The argument went that the Saudis would double-tap funeral processions far more inhumanely with unguided munitions if we didn't give them JDAMs, which was very funny because they were simultaneously denouncing Syria's barrel bombs while refusing to supply the regime with our humanitarian weapons.
Paxlovid is available for free but nobody knows about the program because it's some back office arrangement, like most of the American healthcare system.
404 words to get to the introduction raised a 404. I beg your pardon.
After RTFA and your response I just have to marvel that anybody can think making publishers more responsible for what they promote could possibly sink the discourse any lower when the Cronkite of our age invites on recurring guests to promote bug-eyed conspiracy theories about how, say, it's the drugs that cause AIDs.
The fundamental disagreement might be that you think everything is fine.
do you ever get around to actually linking to the offending wired article cuz I can't seem to find my past the opening thesaurus entry for "incorrect"
The NYT's editors have made a choice to call "ethnic cleansing" an "evacuation", but I suppose they still can't stomach calling it an occupation, either.
There's no runway left for our inaction here:
"The temporary pause on pending decisions will have no bearing on projects already built, which constitute the planet’s single largest source of LNG export capacity. The U.S. will remain the world’s largest gas exporter and is due for a significant expansion over the coming years."

"The war in Yemen is a full-blown crisis...This administration has demonstrated the folly of unconditional support... we must cease support altogether," commanded an open letter signed by much of Biden's national security staff in 2018, who are now demonstrating the folly of unconditional support anyway.
"Man has survived hitherto because he was too ignorant to know how to realize his wishes. Now that he can realize them, he must either change them or perish."Profile picture alt text: Nelson Mandela Muntz Sr anchoring the news and armpit farting at camera one, then turning to camera two to fart with his armpit.
