A homeless man died in my town recently. I don't know the exact cause, but the cold was surely part of it. He stayed at the shelter sometimes. I don't know why he didn't come the night he died. He had mental health problems. His name was Mike.

The current administration is controlled by billionaires. Expect more bodies to be found on sidewalks.

My sibling in Christ, violence is happening all around you, everyday, whether you condone it or not. You are participating in it.

The only question is "What side are you on?"

@Radical_EgoCom My 15yo is a pretty solid socialist. They won't be swayed by propaganda in school, which they'll recognize as such. Beyond continuing to support them, I haven't made specific plans. I'll make it up as I go.

I know good people on the Left who think it won't get *that* bad. Part of me wants to scream at them. I don't because I see that they're dealing with it in their own way. When the time comes, I will try to help them accept how bad it can get. Then I'll welcome their help resisting.

@RickiTarr When I was a kid, TV presented positive male models - Hawkeye Pierce, Gabe Kotter, Howard Cunningham &c. Men who cared about other people and tried to make things better. That was the popular image of a 'good man'.
