Polly was returned after only 3 nights for hiding and not eating much, despite me *emphasizing* she’s going to hide, give her time and go very slow, which they said they understood. Even in friendly animals, 3 days isn’t enough time to adjust. Add anxiety, and you’re looking at weeks to come out. Jasper hid under the bed for days when I first got him. Continued to find new hiding spots and still hides under bed covers if I have visitors. Paws crossed her patient people arrive soon 🐾

Even in my extreme kitten friendly home, it’s never place a new kitten with the crew immediately. New animals have two week quarantine in the bathroom. My cats know they are there, but don’t interact. Then the kittens get a playpen, where everyone can see each other, but still don’t have to interact. Often Mollie wants to and I’ll allow supervised meets. There are stages to socialization. Proper cat introductions are very important to everyone getting along 🤎
