@pluralistic Hasan Pike has been put forward at the Left alternative to Joe Rogan, HasanAbi has talked about this on his streams this week. He shared an interesting observation about the departure of Brett Cooper from the DailyWire. While the Right has millions to fund their channels, they wanted to bottle the authenticity of Hasan and other left streamers for their outlets. Cooper's faux, astro-turfed "streaming" studio stream was a more successful channel for them.

@pluralistic From what I understand, American media a century ago was the same way. Hundreds of newspapers, some cities had a dozen or more. They mostly wore their politics on their...mastheads. People knew they could read something that matched their political tastes.

The migration from #Firefox to #Vivaldi has been pretty effortless. The big annoyance is that I'm used to clicking on the orange Firefox icon in the bottom bar and I have to keep closing it. I like the Workspace feature of Vivaldi, which I had already been using for projects. My big questions at this point are memory management with tabs open in various workspaces and how do the workspaces accommodate having multiple Google accounts open? I post videos to several Youtube channels. #Mozilla

I posted a message to my Facebook showing friends who are on Threads how to share to the Fediverse. Facebook removed my post and claimed that it was spam. Given that the motherfuckers at #Elementor feel free to stick their "Generate with Elementor AI" in parts of my goddamn website that ISN'T USING ELEMENTOR, I'm going to start the teeth-pulling process of getting my websites off of Elementor. In the screenshot below, Elementor is sticking their shit in an editing dashboard on a post that doesn't use Elementor. I've been a loyal #Firefox user since the first version was released. The only thing I want out of the browser and #Mozilla is no #AI. That's a deal breaker. And then I kick myself about the decentralized search engine, called Freesearch, that some friends and I tried to start back in 1998. Somebody needs to steal this idea and run with it.
