I have been replaced by technology.

Going To Bed Too Early Because There’s Been Too Much Day.

Going to bed at 8:00 because (gestures vaguely) everything.

Hearing lots of birds, but not seeing them. The tiny waterfall that brought them close before has been absent the last several weeks, owing to a failed pond pump. One of the many other things that need doing, alas.

The trouble with taking breaks while #gardening is that I spend the whole time looking around at all the other things that need to be done in the yard. But I’m trying hard to keep my focus on the raised beds today. Trying even harder to just enjoy the mess that is the rest.

Knowing that cicadas as harmless does not make their sheer number out there less nightmarish.

While the #cicada numbers have been increasing alarmingly for several days now, apparently they only reached a quorum today. In a way, this is less creepy than their previous silence. You don’t need to turn up the volume much to match their loudness here.

Someone here posted a list of things to be sure to do privacy-wise with the newest Mac update. Can someone point me the way, please?

I’ve finally succumbed to the next level of #gardening obsession and ordered a seed starting kit and grow light.

On a happier note, I just found out you can adopt a bat and get a plushie bat! 🦇

Can anyone recommend a semi-painless way to migrate off of Gmail? Their "any variation on 'firstname lastname' is your address" policy is becoming increasingly obnoxious, as I seem to be acquiring many more gmail doppelgangers lately. These emails are genuine, not just phishing, but they are meant for another person. I dread migrating, since this has been my address for a long long time, going back to when you needed an invitation. But it's past time.

#introduction Just starting to get settled in, so the most important things first. Meet my #cats Maggie and Stanley. They've been working on their first album for seven years, but they only sort of get along, so don't expect it soon. The title track will be Never Been Fed Blues.

I realize it’s inconsistent to think, “I don’t know who they’re talking to in these polls. The results make no sense to me,” while also ignoring/deleting/blocking all the calls and texts I’m getting. And yet.

The degree to which everyday life assumes all adults have a backup adult at the ready anytime is ridiculous.
