I hope you don't mind me taking this opportunity to highlight:

Even if you don't use it (often) and can afford to, and prefer to, buy your books, CDs, DVDs, etc., get a library pass. They are usually free (or cheap enough) and are one of the best ways to support your local library. The more registered users they have, the more politicians see potential voters being upset if they cancel funding.
