matsuko (they/she) (missmatsuko@disabled.social)'s status on Sunday, 13-Nov-2022 15:10:30 JST matsuko (they/she) 1 minute film about changing your name as an immigrant child. The feels! I'm not an immigrant and I've always used my (Japanese) name except for a brief period when I was looking for a co-op placement at work. In Canada, applicants with "English" names get 40% more callbacks than those with "foreign" sounding names.

matsuko (they/she) (missmatsuko@disabled.social)'s status on Saturday, 12-Nov-2022 11:04:45 JST matsuko (they/she) Hi, I'm Matsuko!
I use they/she pronouns (either is fine). I'm mixed race (Japanese and white), queer, and neurodivergent.
I currently live in Victoria, BC but I am pretty regularly in Vancouver and Seattle as well!
I've previously worked in digital accessibility and may go back to that, but I'm currently in school for public health and disability studies, and hope to start my MLIS next year!
