@enfors I made a choice that Socks was a pure twitter thing that lived and came to a close with the platform. I'm sure I'll find another way to have a million followers on the Fediverse. :)
Internet Archive has many contributing Citizen Archivists, and one of them is Marcin Wichary (who is fascinating in his own right) who has uploaded hundreds of Typewriter-based knowledge and documents. They're in a collection here:
Hey there, Admin of the Internet Archive Mastodon here. I've seen some people speculate/rumor that the Archive's mastodon instance is set up to be an involuntary vacuum spot for all toots passing back into the Wayback, and it is NOT that. Any archiving of toots would be some other project (and outside my knowledge) but the Internet Archive Mastodon is just another instance, doing the mastodon thing. Communicate with us at will.
There is a moment, a joyous moment, between when the staff stands ready, feet shuffle quietly, a hush and a murmur runs in the space before the giant doors creak open and the day's endeavors begin.
One last point of order: The mastodon will only have Internet Archive employees and role accounts (Internet Archive, Open Library, etc.), simply because we really lack the time and mental bandwidth to run a full-on Internet Archive community server - so just follow and we'll follow you back out there, wherever you are!
