We weren't the only ones to head high for the evening light. This stag - its magnificent antlers covered in thick velvet catching the sun - seemed to be enjoying the endless vistas too.

The melting River Nethy this morning - it was -8C when we set out for a morning stroll today, but +2C when we finished. The thaw has begun in the glens - and the gales are sweeping the mountains.
