Pearl Jam via May 4th in Vancouver is top notch. The album songs I’m liking as well, more then during my listen through. They must have a fantastic relationship with that city. I’d think at least?
Along with my FIOS tv service I’ve subbed to a less than legal TV service for PPV's and oddball global stuff that I love to explore. Today I viewed some Gaelic Football through RTE & Nippon Pro Baseball through J-Sport. I’m glad the Japanese channels are now working better than before & I love watching the lovely randomness of it all. The Japanese channels have never worked without hitches but this fact has never stops me from attempting to view them regardless. No big ugly dish needed!
Mary Lattimore and Walt McClements is another recording I listened to today. I’m not familiar with WC who plays the accordion adding lushness to MT’s harp. The five tracks present this incredible build and release throughout. By the end you can’t exactly remember what you listened to but ya’ still want to hear it again. It’s gorgeous throughout. https://marylattimoreharpist.bandcamp.com/album/rain-on-the-road
Dylan Dylan is a producer from France and this is her second full length but first for myself. Interesting mix of beats but she really leans into UK 2 step garage, house and even some classic UK breaks as well. Relatively varied but almost all are dance floor worthy. Most tracks have a semi melodic underpinning the beats adding mood and texture. Chill bunch of tracks for a Sat evening. Also chill because it’s cold out here.. https://dylandylan.bandcamp.com/album/love-theory-lp
Rap battles that that amount to two men trying to belittle each other because they think the other man isn’t male enough gets tiring quickly but I’m obviously not the target audience.
Don’t “These Streets” have enough people doing this in a myriad of ways? I guess this business is only for grown folks and I ain’t grown enough for it. You can keep all, It’s yours, I don’t need that energy in art or any other place really.
New Amen Dunes is a lazy Saturday morning album if there ever was one. I know he releases a lot of music and I can’t say I’ve ever heard anything I’ve actively disliked. I stumbled upon one of his live performances at a gallery space in my neighborhood right around when my first son was born in 09, also super enjoyable. https://amendunes.bandcamp.com/album/death-jokes
Welcome re-release of this early FSOL collection of live materiel. It’s FSOL and classic FSOL, well worth all of our listening time. If you’re into psychedelic leaning beat based forms that is. #FSOL#FutureSoundsofLondon
The DJ-Kicks series is a subscription series now eh’? That’s a fantastic way to generate revenue but I wonder if it has? I notice the mixed version aren’t available on streaming. I’m listening to the DJ Kicks HAAi mix now and it’s fantastic! House to myself, techno party! https://dj-kicks.bandcamp.com/subscribe
Thank the many gods & goddesses for the music of The Sunburned Hand of the Man. Always taking me somewhere exotic. Perhaps exotic is the wrong term but I’m sticking with it. Tonight Covered In Mud is playing in my ear holes.
After three tracks I’m enjoying the new Kings of Leon record titled Can We Please Have Fun. I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to their music that deeply. Sound wise it brings straight forward rock tracks with bit of gaze to it. The simple funk and catchy rhythms is what I remembered about them and that’s definitely here. Lyrically it’s nothing memorable but nothing terrible either.
This Tom Brady roast has a bunch of athletes & comedians whose opinions I care little about letting it all hang out. Switched on fun with jokes aplenty.
Slowerpace 音楽, my find of the evening through his 2024 album Space Cowboys. Smooth, chill, head nod worthy grooves of a supremely high quality. There 15 or more other recordings of equal quality I’d imagine. There’s only one way to find out I guess..
There’s a new Hot Water Music album comes out tomorrow and I’d like to see them have a radio hit. Make it happen, SpotiRadioAppleMusic. They mix hard rock and melodic bits together well enough to soundtrack any construction site boombox session. At least they do in my brain.
I’m listening to bONEs again, the first track on the Flat Earth Society Orchestra recording The One. It will take one through the almost entire history of the jazz genre in one 24 minute composition. It’s such an exciting journey.
