Balearic style house with early UK rave echos galore. All of this via Portland, Oregon composer Brandon Knocke or Body-San. I hear some Sega Sound Team influences here as well but perhaps that’s just my game history raddled mind. https://body-san.bandcamp.com/album/hilly-blue
Fred P is a globe trotting techno producer/composer whose styles are as many as his moves. This is some Berlin ass techno if there ever was some. Grey and dreary but not like Burial’s same hues. This is Berlin dreary, grey, winter, echos of communist apartment blocks. All that, it’s fantastic! A post Berghain after party come down. https://fredpofficial.bandcamp.com/album/message-to-the-universe
American Radiohead levels of creativity here. They operate on a parallel compositional axis. Melodically they are just so different. They also present their ideas in a very American manner. You hear the Cursive influence. That whole corner of post 3rd wave emo. It’s there, barely but I hear in some of the presentation. It’s just a very re-listenable bunch of very densely composed songs. I wonder how they present this live?
The newest Spirit of the Beehive album is my album of 2024 I believe, perhaps? Very close. It’s only 39 minutes? It feels so much longer. This record just flows with ideas and is brilliantly melodic all of once.
@doubletap It’s a growing community that’s a lot like Mastodon and yet still not at all like Mastodon. Both communities growing at their own pace and naturally. It’s fascinating watching them both evolve and change quite honestly.
