Slave Master (Slave Driver Version), I’m on a Joe Gibbs bender of sorts since last night. It may and probably will go on forever.
Can’t fuck with Kode 9’s compositional creativity. It challenges conceptions but serves them up in a way we all understand completely. Starts with an odd hooky sample and simple step rhythm that later evolves into an all out raver of an almost anthem.

“dub in its day was messy, unruly, and subversive; its pioneers devised a new system of improvisation and helped transform the recorded popular song from a fixed product into a more fluid process.”

While listening to Dead & Company on the GD station through SirusXM I was thinking about how it could be made even slower. My mind kept thinking about a collaboration with La Monte Young & The Forever Bad Blues Band. :)
I fucking hate the Dallas Stars. #GoOilers!!
Tonight’s dive into thee ICP Catalog, ICP 006, the gang’s all present on this recording. Two long slabs of some instant composing.

Chaotic hardcore via Copenhagen, Denmark. Solid Sunday find.
A new Om Unit album, bless.. Acid Dub studies meaning a 303 bass-line in a dubwise setting. I’m loving the results with lazy rhythms stretching & bending in a myriad of lovely ways. Highly recommended..
Listening to this Clifford Jordan Quartet Album tonight for the first time. Glass Bead Games, 1974, incredible on every track if listened to. 7 tracks in currently on the track ‘Biskit’. Just heavyweight grooves on every track!
@LostReflector This is great! I’m going to dig deeper, thanks!
Teddy Duchamp’s Army was perhaps my favorite western PA band of the late 90’s early 2000’s punk scene in that region. I’m glad to see they’ve recently been playing again, much love from Philly!

Ottomani Parker mixing electronics of a dub leaning variety combined with horns and other rhythmic elements. I see he performed with a sax player at Cafe Oto at some point, I’m intrigued. Improvised dub like steps.

Dillinja, what a fucking resume of tracks? Just creativity springing forth from every shattered rhythm. Hard tracks but all made for a dance floor. I love this genre, always & forever..

DJ Koze is such an incredible composer of songs. I thank him and collaborators for this new album. Every track brings itself in such ways. All statements of their own.

I can’t recommend this recording any higher..
DJ Olive’s Triage recording featuring many contributors but this piece of music as an audio component to his 2008 Whitney biennial. Drift with a certain life of its own. Reminds me a bit of a Taj Mahal Travellers recording through a new generations set of ears. Just one gorgeous hour long journey.

I’d like to say that this UMO recording is the first recording that’s just felt right in the colander year of 2025. I’d be lying somewhat but something about this recording just feels like it’s filling a need in my soul.

a new DJ Koze full length comes out tomorrow and it will be good, no doubt in my brain. I’ve already listened to the track Buschtaxi far too many times already. i always love when Kosi comes around!
