Top left: All American jock and his cheerleader girlfriend proudly declare their heterosexuality until… (fame 2) the school librarian introduces them to GAY LITERATURE! “What’s ’Gay’?”, asks Sally innocently. Next frame has a dream loud border, and a caption atop: LITERALLY ONE DAY LATER. We see Billy and Sally dancing betwixt unicorns beneath a rainbow. He’s quit the football team to become a communist florist, he says. She approves, and says she’s going to shave her head and become a witch. Last frame (back to reality) two straight men drinking beer in a bar. Thought bubbles link one to the third frame and he concludes: “…and THAT’s why we need ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Laws!” “Makes sense” agrees the other. Postscript: the cartoonists ask why anyone would be strait if they were aware of all the options! 🤣
