But my guess is it would make sense that it wasn't very effective. As far as I know BA2.86 and JN.1 are pretty much a whole different evolutionary branch: the Pirola clan.

That said, getting it is probably better than not, as we won't have a Pirola vaccine available who knows until when.

Not meaning to rain on people's parade, because it's certainly good we're finally getting the updated booster for XBB variants in March.

By all means get it if you can.

But it's been so slow, that the XBB variants are not really the ones we need to worry about anymore in Aotearoa.

A workmate I was with yesterday has called in sick because she's tested + for Covid (again).

Can't put into words how glad I am I mask *always* at work, how much I hope my one way masking has kept me safe (again) and how much I wish the other workmates realised they should be masking too.

Choosing not to wear a mask in an airbourne virus pandemic is a personal choice like driving while drunk is a personal choice.

The cherry on top of the shit sundae that is this climate denier president of the #cop28, is that his comment about "No science" backing up the need to phase out fossil fuels was while he spoke over (or mansplained) the actual guests in a talk called SHE CHANGES CLIMATE, a women-only panel about female perspectives on climate change.

He also topped it off by saying "I'm the man in charge".
