"Valencia's regional government admitted that it had only sent out a text message warning residents of the impending catastrophe at 8:12 PM, eight hours after the first floods were reported, and 10 hours after Spain’s AEMET issued an alert highlighting “extreme danger” across the region."

Disasters like this will keep happening because we are NOT ready. Nearly 100 lives lost because the early warning system failed.

There is a lot of talk that things are going to be ok.

Here is the honest truth. We did not slam on the brakes to avoid passing 1.5°C

We have NOT slammed on the brakes in the 2°C car. Brakes = 5.3% emissions reduction in 2024 and EVERY year thereafter until 2030.

Emissions are projected to GROW in 2024.

#France:

Car parks with space for 80 cars or more are now required by law to be covered with solar panels.

- Parks between 80-400 spaces have 5 years to comply
- Parks with spaces of 400+ have 3 years to comply

This will result in about 11 gigawatts of power.

This should be required everywhere!

So burning fossil fuels plays a role in making heatwaves worse which then leads to this:

“To meet the demand, utilities in New England burned more [methane] gas. [Methane] gas burned in the power sector reached nearly 2.0 billion cubic feet (Bcf) on both June 19 and 20, compared to about 1.20 Bcf per day consumed on the Wednesday and Thursday of the previous week.”

And so the vicious cycle continues!
