Spotify’s latest earnings reports are out, and they are still losing hundreds of millions. To put it in recording terms, Spotify is losing so much money so fast they could be making a Chinese Democracy each week. And they kind of are

Incredibly, Twitter has now made it impossible for public safety bulletins to be posted automatically by weather services, tsunami warnings, the MTA etc. This is consistent with Musk’s particular lack of interest in public service. But it also highlights the general problem of building networks on private property - precisely why we need Mastodon and other open source apps to take their proper place at the center of our online communities

So I get a call last minute could you teach this semester it starts Monday and I said yes and they said can you write and submit a detailed 15-week syllabus and I did and they said can you schedule two interviews right away and I did and then they said oh we’re not hiring anyone after all
