Amazing interview with epidemiologist Dr Amanda Kvalsvig about the importance of #CleanAir in schools, why you should protect yourself from Covid-induced brain damage and the unfathomable impact of #LongCovid.

As winter approaches, so do the germs, and as every parent knows schools are prime breeding grounds for winter illnesses. Dr Amanda Kvalsvig is one of New Zealand's top epidemiologosts, with a background in clinical paediatrics.

Covid can have substantial impacts on peoples’ health. Although Covid initially enters the body through the respiratory system, it can affect virtually every bodily system and organ. There are no advantages to catching Covid. Every infection increases the chance of serious damage to the body.[1] Studies show that at least 10% of all Covid infections result in Long Covid, including in children.[2] Long Covid symptoms include fatigue, brain fog, dizziness and headaches, sleep disruption, and...

Canadian professor Steve Wilcox has between 95 and 100% of students in his game design classes masking up with N95s after playing a simple game he designed called “The Haunted Woods.” The game illustrates both the risks of contracting #LongCovid and the efficacy of masks in reducing the risk of repeat SARS-CoV-2 infections.

“Long COVID Mode”: Seeing the crisis through games
      from Kate Fishman
Games uniquely incorporate emotional and social factors that influence how we take in information — making them surprisingly useful communication tools in a world in denial about the ongoing threats of COVID-19 and Long COVID. Whether through the cathartic storytelling in indie designers’ interactive theater projects or learning opportunities woven into popular video games, playing games can help people make informed decisions amid the Long COVID crisis.

"Wearing a mask is the opposite of living in fear: it’s facing the facts and braving daily discomfort to treat your own life as worthwhile."

Excellent opinion piece by Anne Campbell on why we not only deserve to drink clean water but also breathe clean air:

Let’s bring back the remarkable gift of wearing a mask
      from Anne Campbell
We made a mistake in framing masking as a dreary obligation to others, when in fact it's a near-miraculous gift to yourself.
