"I pity those who've never experienced the excitement of flipping through a collection of floppy disks, and the ensuing - and profoundly satisfying - Klonk when the drive mechanism accepts the selected disk. I wish for everyone to, at some point, feel the sublime give and then resistance of a CRT's power button, and hear the accompanying Thunk! and Biew! when turning the screen on and off, respectively. It all just feels so right. Photos, videos or even software emulation is incapable of recreating this. Neither can it fully convey the warm glow of an electron beam sweeping across phosphor on glass. "
Luckily. Systemd is adding BSOD to #Linux, so you can get the actual #crowdstrike experience.
Accept no substitutions.
Does #emacs have a mascot outside of Gnu?
Are there some very-retro (so, up to unix era) computing sites, channels, communities out there? I’m not interested in retro gaming and I do t care at all about consoles 🙂
I know only the blog of my penpal https://wovenmemories.net/ #retrocomputing #unix
sh.rt seems great but it does not render .org file :(

What’s the craziest thing you incorporated into your #emacs workflow? What amazing things you do inside eMacs?
There is one thing I don’t get about #activitypub - why can’t I use one client for #mastodon and #lemmy?
ok, #bsd question: so, #OpenBSD and #freebsd share the same init system (as OpenBSD was a fork of Free), but #NetBSD does not?
@pitrh so, they all share it? Only the configuration file name is different?
Hey! I'm Michał, a computer programmer living in Kraków, Poland. I’m interested in #emacs #bsd #star-trek #privacy #smallweb #digital-independence #emacs #bsd #freebsd #openbsd
