Being in a societal position where u can be skeptical and judgey of utilizing mutual aid is a privilege.

Not to treat privilege like a scarlet letter. But it's just like I want ppl to be reminded that the act of not needing mutual aid is a privilege that many in this economy don't have. They don't have a choice to just not get needs met. Or that ends in social death and actual death.

If "hardwork" in itself were a virtue that liberates ppl from oppression, we wouldn't have slavery. Because labor would be valued and compensated.

Colonizers fixate on "hard work" and ad hominem attacks about laziness because it allows them to subvert the fact that it's colonizers extracting and devaluing labor.

But again, this is why I'm always citing SOCIAL MOBILITY. How justice for restored material conditions through upward mobility for Natives and others impacted by colonialism, is more important than saviorism (aka paternalism).

Alot of the resentment you witness expressed at "mutual aid" is actually misdirected anger at govt policies of paternalism and lack of safety nets.

@GreenSkyOverMe I'm in the US amd admittedly I never drank coffee until midway through college. Only ever drank out of necessity for all nighters. Then again after I had kids. Then I over did it and had a reaction to accidentally drinking "jolt" coffee for truckers at the gas station and thought I was gonna die, so I rarely drink coffee.
