If insurance is no longer available, other financial services become unavailable too. A house that cannot be insured cannot be mortgaged. No bank will issue loans for uninsurable property. Credit markets freeze. This is a climate-induced credit crunch.

So after 5 hours in A&E, it turned out nothing was broken, a nice doctor glued my forehead back together and DH drove us home.

I posted a short blog on my running website, https://www.fetcheveryone.com/, saying how nice it was of the passers by to wait with me.

And one of the comments on the blog was from the woman of the couple, who it turned out I knew slightly online, as a local cyclist, but didn't know in person. How lovely is that!

I was able to thank her properly via DM.

And quite teared up while doing so. Most people are just So Nice! And it was so lovely that it was another Fetchie!

I can't recommend https://www.fetcheveryone.com/ too highly, a wonderful community living the best spirit of the Internet. Completely unshittified and likely to stay that way. #fetcheveryone.

There are lots of good places online, but sometimes it takes a bit of work to find them rather than stick with the huge commercial sites.

I love the interwebs sometimes. I was out for a walk with my husband this morning, and face planted after catching my toe on a protruding kerb. Blood everywhere. I'd banged my forehead. Some nice passers by waited with me while DH went home for the car to take me into A&E.

Jolly nice of them, and we had a pleasant conversation about local running (me) and cycling (her) routes, and I suggested a variation to their planned walk to take in a mini nature reserve.
