@hellomiakoda@pdx.social@thatgalsilver@zoner.work@LivInTheLookingGlass@transfem.social I never had to help a deaf customer before, but there was a dude I helped in my computer repair job that used JAWS on his computer due to sight impairment. Doing troubleshooting like making printers work was basically impossible for him so he relied on us. Did a service call to his house and he was really nice and told me a couple cool stories. I forget what I did, bit I indeed stretch the rules a bit for him.
@thatgalsilver pro-tip for calling into a call center. Be pleasant to them. They will often go above and beyond for you if you're decent about things.
Need a credit for a cable outage? Say please and just talk to them like a normal person and they'll likely credit you for other outages and such you didn't know about.
Been on hold for an hour? Instead of complaining reframe it as "sounds like y'all are busy today". Chances are they will be way more relaxed after hearing that line and be less prone to rushing you off the phone.
Need them to bend the rules a bit? Be nice about it and you are far more likely for them to put you on hold to go speak with a leader or supervisor to make an exception.
Why do I say this? I worked in a call center, the little who showed this basic decency made me feel like actually trying my hardest for them.
I need help for a transmasc friend. He's fairly early on and wants to know if there are any good binders other trans men recommend. Preferably one that isn't painful with a bad back.
If you don't know the answer a boost would be appreciated as maybe a follower of yours may know. Thanks in advance!
I went to my blood draw in girl mode. After which I went to Taco Bell too. Didn't really have the time to feel afraid as I was running late in the beginning. Big progress happening.
Hearing "Chloe" called out at Taco Bell instead of my deadname felt nice. It's a bit sad I didn't have more than an hour out in public, but I really do need to rest because I am sick to some degree.
@kirby@lab.nyanide.com all the updates are mostly this: "holiday update 69420, we added a new crate to gamble on and put in 5 new community made maps we spent no time validating and you can only play for 1 month a year."
Computer enthusiast that likes to make things work for fun. I like to play video games sometimes too, mostly co-op and single player games though.I like Linux and have used it on and off for 8+ years. I'm a huge fan of XFCE and use Arch btw despite the maintenance burden. (Better than ppa dependency issues imo)Follow requests are subject to a vibe check if I don't know or recognize you. Please have a pfp and bio at a bare minimum. Was previously: @syphist@kitsunes.club@syphist@tech.lgbt
