@ironchamber Is this is a textbook example of imposter syndrome? Asking for a friend. 😅
I’ve worked with you and know you’re smart and have a lot to teach other people.

@ironchamber we acquire and then carry along a lot of domain and institutional knowledge. It’s easy to take that for granted
Someone teaches me X, then once I learn it I immediately turn around and think to myself, “Oh, everyone probably knows this. I was just the last person who had to learn this.”
Turns out that isn’t true for everyone we work with or the people who arrive after we did. 🙂

@hana is Middle Earth at stake? The eagle then. 😉
I've enjoyed learning more about mesh-network VPNs like Tailscale over the last 6 months. One thing I struggled with was how to get nice URLs for multiple services running on the same host. I think I found a nice way to do it.

PaaS: when it works it's magic and saves me a bunch of time.
When it doesn't work... it is the opposite.
Sigh.
@ironchamber Like "focus follows mouse" from the X Windows days. But the webcam would track what my eyes were looking at and switch application focus based on that.
But, even thinking about it for a few moments, it means transcribing something would suck. Typing in a text editor while reading something on the web would be busted.
🤔
There's a feature I think I want for my desktop OS. Let's call it "focus follows eyes". I wonder whether I would like it or hate it in practice? 🤔
