Oh for the vtubers on other instances, if you are on a mastodon server there is a migration path to VT Social once we open up for registrations

In a sense VT Social accounts will in this way also be a form of verification, much like how Twitter had a verification system before Elon gutted it

Requirement 2 requires you making a change on a site owned by you indicating that you’re proving your identity for VT Social, or that you link a key base account that is set up to prove that you own the vtubing accounts in question.

While Twitter is alive that will also work as verification

Idea is that you use the request form to prove 2 things,
1. You do VTubing or VTubing adject content (eg. do rigging or model art for vtubers)
2. You’re not trying to impersonate someone else

Now begins the long haul, we’re starting with inviting friends, after that I’ll selectively ask people whether they’d be interested, etc.
Once we’re sure how big the moderation burden is, I’ll switch the server to allow signups with a request form.

You can move your account from mastodon.social to an other instance and take your followers with you. Under Profile settings you can first click "Move to a different account", then on the new instance select "Moving from a different account".

Under Import/Export settings you can also export your posts, people you follow, etc. and import some of the things on to the instance you've moved to.

I highly recommend people on mastodon.social to move to another instance, it's a very crowded instance and Gargron struggles keeping up with the server demands of the instance due to also having other commitments.

https://joinmastodon.org lists instances based on interests, etc. If you can't find any there's always https://mastodon.online and https://mstdn.jp
