Pretty cool how we have a robust right to jury trial if you're some lawbreaking hedge fund or corporation trying to delay agency action, but if you try to sue one of them, there's an endless gantlet of federal statutes and procedural rules designed to throw your case out before you get to a jury.

You people aren't engineering geniuses and so might have silly thoughts in your brain like, "a four-foot windshield wiper will encounter a lot of friction, made worse by leverage."
On an unrelated note, every Cybertruck is recalled cuz the wiper ain't made right.

This isn't an unexpected byproduct of abortion bans, it's one of the intended goals. The "pro-life" movement wants to force carrying non-viable pregnancies to term, and they want to make doctors and hospitals afraid to provide maternal care.

US Income Tax Revenue: $2.2 trillion
US Imports: $3.8 trillionThis would be a $1 trillion annual handout to the top 1%, paid for by massive inflation in consumer goods, something like 55%-60%.
Breaking the economy to give the richest even more, that's the Republican way.

Amusing how Kathleen Parker & WaPo wanted to sound fancy by not using "weaponizing," but she's just wrong.
"Weaponing" is to furnish with weapons, e.g., "the armorer was weaponing the soldiers."
The word she means is "weaponizing," i.e., "to adapt for use as a weapon."

LOL, they changed it. You're welcome, WaPo, but if you really wanted to improve your paper, you'd take the column down and never publish anything by Kathleen Parker again.

I'm sorry, but if you call yourself a "moderate" or "conservative" while also advocating for "major changes" or to "tear down the system," then you're not any of those things, you're just an angry reactionary dimwit who doesn't even know what words mean.

The legal definition of "genocide" is quite strict, but describing the "annihilation" of a place to "blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven" would sure seem to meet "dolus specialis," the specific intent to destroy a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group.

These similarities apply just as much to GLP-1s. There's certainly more aggressive competition among drugmakers to produce and market GLP-1s, whereas the bulk of ADHD drugs are low-profit generics.
So are we going to arbitrarily limit them too, or just ADHD drugs?

It seems this deputy assistant administrator at the DEA believes that Adderall is basically street meth and, well, someone with that level of ignorance about pharmacology should simply not be employed by the DEA or any other drug-regulating agency.

One telling aspect of the targeted drone strike on World Central Kitchen is how, as Israel approaches its 200th kill of a humanitarian worker, neither Netanyahu nor the IDF even pretends there will be consequences for the soldiers or changes in policy.
Because it is the policy.

He's right. "Originalism" is about stringing together a collection of words to support a predetermined outcome. There's no need for fidelity to facts, reliable description of source material, nor even logical consistency. It's one of the few tasks large language models could do.

Gotta admit it's pretty funny to see someone plunk down >$15M for deep in-the-money call options on Trump's "DJT" stock at what they thought was a low point and then immediately lose at least a million as the stock dropped another 15%.

We don't need a conspiracy theory for this to be problematic. On the face of it, a Presidential candidate will owe $91.6M to someone—maybe Chubb, maybe a bank that gave him a line of credit to give Chubb, etc—if he loses the appeal, as he likely will. That's a lot of leverage on a President.

Quite the indictment of our financial system that there's nearly $4 billion in capital tied up in a shell company that is going to merge with the money-losing social network run by the insurrectionist conman who keeps racking up hundreds of millions in court judgments against him.

Weird how all the "protect the kids" folks who are rabid about banning trans healthcare have absolutely nothing to say about routine brain damage to adolescents who play football. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2814507?utm_source=For_The_Media&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=ftm_links&utm_term=020124

What's extra funny here is that, not only was Musk's compensation package 250x the norm and 33x his prior package, but he and Tesla's board made no attempt to avoid a challenge exactly like this. Literally no effort at a fair negotiation. They walked into this.
