"Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life."
It doesn't work like that. It's more like this:
"Do what you love and the industry will systematically destroy all joy you once found in it."

Last night I watched John Oliver's segment about Boeing and how they turned focus away from making quality products in favor of inflating their own stock price though buybacks and cost-cutting. Wow! It's the same toxic shit at my workplace and at many other orgs out there. Yeah Boeing is being naughty but this is a systemic problem for the tech industry and other industries as well. Business majors are ruining everything. My takeaway wasn't just "Boeing bad", it's that our whole civ is fucked.
Some of my art from this year. Onward to 2024!
@soatok I drew dicks when I was 8. This would get me in big trouble so I created a dick pic obfuscation scheme. I'd make lots of random folds on a piece of paper then draw my smut on the transformed paper. When the paper is unfolded (flat), the pictures looked like nothing (they were 'encrypted'). Only through proper re-folding would the forbidden image be revealed, analogous to the application of a security key. Unfortunately the folds left physical traces in the paper which could be used as a side-channel attack vector so I was forced to abandon my work as a pioneer in crypto-art.
Now it's 40y later. I still draw dicks and I work in cryptography. :)
