    @clarity @yosh you mean like my water bill works?

    (Reasonable use is pretty cheap. It escalates quickly as you use “too much.”)

    @mfowler @timbray @simon 💯 agree.

    I’ll add to that that using a static site generator (assuming you’re sufficiently geeky to do it) is valuable insurance against any given provider going sideways.

    I wrote about my approach here: https://ericscouten.dev/2021/how-i-built-146-parks/ and it now reflects how I’ve built all of my sites.

      How I Built 146 Parks
      Since last fall, I have been working on a project to visit, photograph, and document each of the 146 state parks in my home state of Washington in the U.S. Normally this site will be devoted to my life as a developer, but today I will incorporate the outdoor-explorer and photographer parts of my life. This is an article about how I built the blog for the 146 Parks project.

    @staltz recently encountered an SDK that skipped from major version x to major version x+2. (There was never an x+1.) Happened to have an opportunity to speak to the team behind said SDK and asked why.

    They said it was such a big change that they wanted to leave a noticeable gap between the two versions.

    Mission accomplished.

    My term for this is "hyper-semantic versioning."
