Tonight's feature, #DraculaPrisonerOfFrankenstein, from 1972, contained more sound effects than lines. We also had:

• A bat that swallowed a whistle!
• Tiny vampire hammer!
• Monstergram!
• A sound effects department (aka Pierre) that could only afford the childhood toy that spun an arrow around and then made the noise of the animal it was pointed at.
• Lots of eyeball closeups!
• Wolfman fighting Frankenstein monster!
• Bat zapper!
• Monster zapper!
• Still no idea what the plot was!

"...that car doesn't fit the time period. Who does it belong to?"
"No idea."
"Just throw a sheet over it then. And someone go find a donkey."

• BIG eyes!
• Pearl envy!
• Killer crabs!
• Piranha pools!
• Lots of swimming. In fact, most of the movie is just people swimming.
• Exploding temple!

But that can't work. He's wearing a body condom.

Tonight we watched #FirstMenInTheMoon from 1964, which despite its awkward title was all kinds of fun, having some of the best miniatures and set design that we've seen in quite a while. We also had,

• Really great intro credits!
• A Flying Oliver typewriter!
• Anti Gravity Goop! Not Flubber, but close!
• Bouncy ball space ship! With chickens!
• Turns out the inside of the moon has breathable air!
• Moon bugs!
• Carnivorous moon caterpillars!
• Death by virus!

You know, you could have just ridden the bicycle over there.
