Local 87, the union representing 6,000 janitors in the private sector, said ICE agents went to multiple downtown San Francisco office buildings late Friday afternoon, but that building security kept them from entering, KTVU reports.
“Union president Olga Miranda said the janitors were relieved that someone spoke up for them.”
"Trump doesn't care if the economy crashes and communities suffer. His goal is to force you and your family to accept a lower standard of living while he and his friends get richer," Senator Wyden said on Bluesky. "Cutting support for law enforcement, schools, small businesses and firefighters is chaos by design."
“The firings don’t just pose a fundamental challenge to the inspectors general and the agencies they serve — they are a threat to the authority of Congress itself. What is the point of laws if lawmakers permit them to be so cavalierly ignored? Yet the response of Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, who has been a thundering champion of inspectors general, was disturbingly muted.”

Vance could be seen raising his eyebrows and turning to his wife to get a reaction. She didn’t budge."
“She stated, ‘I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of lesbian and gay people and I should stick to the issue of racial justice… but I hasten to remind that Martin Luther King, Jr. said, Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. I appeal to everyone who believes in Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream to make room at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood for lesbian and gay people.’” #MLKDay
“When questioned about this turn in her activism, Scott King reminded naysayers that many gays and lesbians had given their all to the civil rights movement (including perhaps most famously Bayard Rustin, an openly gay black man and lead organizer of the 1963 March on Washington). She felt it was her duty to offer support in return.” #MLKDay
