Has anyone ever heard of any accessible air quality monitoring devices? Specifically, I need to monitor the levels of volatile organic compounds. As I begin to operate multiple 3D printers, and use more advanced filaments, filtering/venting is becoming a serious safety concern. There are quite a few devices that monitor this sort of thing, but I haven't yet found anything that talks or can be used through an accessible app. If you don't kno, please boost.
Seeing more blind enthusiasts buy 3D printers, which is good, but too many are buying Ender 3, which is bad, at least for blind people. If you hear of someone being interested, tell them to get a Prusa. Enders use inaccessible touch screens. Prusas have a basic LCD with a click wheel, menus that don't wrap, and have sound feedback. Printers require frequent calibration, which is manual, and largely inaccessible on Enders, but automatic on Prusas.
I'll pray for you Mr. sighted man, cause fait ain't always kind. Oh, I'll pray real hard Mr. sighted man, cause fait ain't always kind. I'll pray you don't go to bed one evening, then wake up and find you're blind.
Woke up this morning, and my accessibility done gone away. Yes, I woke up this morning, and my accessibility done gone away. It was here last night, but an update took it right away. It looks so much better, so much better the sighted man say. Oh it look so real pretty, so pretty the sighted man say. But I'm a blind man with a screen reader, and he don't care about me no way.
Here's another great application for 3D printing. This site will generate tactile street maps. It can work with embossers and capsule paper, but, if you have a 3D printer, it will generate a 3D model you can print that differentiates between small streets, highways, and waterways, by the height of the lines. It even has little raised models of buildings. It uses Open Street Map, which is okay, but wish we could use a commercial service with more detail. https://touch-mapper.org/en/
Setting up a new Windows PC in a long while. People complain about Mac, but, man. Windows setup: "Would you like to sign in to MS or sign in to MS? How about create a pin or create a pin? Which 6 hours of the day would you like to designate as the we won't reboot and fuck your work time? Windows wants to send all your data to MS? No? Windows wants to send all your data again? No? K. We'll ask you again when you open your browser, start Office, etc, just to be sure. Hows about a Start Menu ad?"
@drewdevault@matt The expectation of "believe all" when it comes to sexual assault claims is profoundly naive, unhelpful, and reminiscent of witch trials. Pretend you are accused. You know you never assaulted your accuser, barely spoke, were never alone, and had no physical contact. How do you propose rightly defending yourself? Evidence isn't required. Verifiable details aren't required. Anything you say will be taken as insensitive to victims. What will you do?
