I have been trying to figure out where to start with building a community that connects in person and have been leaning toward a supper club.
I came up with a name today while zoning out during an appointment. Just bought the domain.
Incredibly grateful that my last registered state to vote was Washington and they're absentee/overseas voter process is easy.
But upon reflecting, it's also terrible that voting in other states is not as easy even when you're present.
I see an uptick in people asking about when the Servo web browser engine will be stable or have a proper release. Building a browser engine takes resources & funding is needed for those resources.

I want my brother to give a lightning talk on what real emergencies look like to a group of tech people because hearing him talk about what he deals with as a surgeon definitely helps me put things in perspective
Blogs are still a thing, and blogs have always been a thing. They didn't go anywhere. My technical blog is thriving.
People come back to old posts constantly.
Something I posted 10 months ago is still my top performing post. Social media posts are ephemeral & if something happens to your content - it's gone.
Host your own blog, control your content. My social media posts may max out at 500-1000 views but my page views have a consistent baseline of 30k/a month. And I haven't posted in a bit.
Font Awesome raised $721,620 to build an open source library of web components. Their goal was $30,000.
I need to collect my thoughts and put it in a blog post but I'm curious what the community's thoughts are on this because that is not a trivial amount of money.
As a web platform PM working in open source and trying to find ways to get funding for projects...was this good marketing? Is it selling a different solution to what's already out there?

UX LinkedIn thinks “Design for Developers” is so thorough that devs will be able to take their jobs after reading it.
Was also called a moron by a design leader.
