Peter Abbott, CEO of the Puffing Billy Railway was interviewed by Nick Ozorack of The Roundhouse podcast recently. There’s a lot of stuff covered in the interview that I’m personally aware of already so I didn’t get a huge amount out of it. I was a bit disappointed that Peter didn’t make more mention of the fact that Puffing Billy is the second-oldest heritage railway in the world, only a couple of years younger than the Talyllyn Railway in Wales. Nevertheless if you’re into #HeritageRailways and not familiar with “Puff” already then it’s a worthwhile listen:

Twitter has apparently just fired its entire accessibility team.
It’s also important to note that a lot of accessibility features that Twitter only added prominently just recently such as image descriptions have been baked into Mastodon for a while. There is a cultural norm here to add image descriptions as frequently as possible.
It’s not just for vision-impaired people too: it’s a handy way to explain jokes and references to people who may not be familiar.
