As a Canadian, I'd like to thank Donald Trump! You've REALLY brought us together as a nation. When I was growing up, there was an attitude like we were America's little sibling. Not anymore! Thanks to you, I think we're more Canada than we've ever been before! So you deserve at least one pat on your greasy orange head.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard does look really, really nice.
Can't say I'm having much fun with it, though. The characters just don't grab me (except old fave Varric), I'm not enjoying the combat (to be fair, I never have in DA, and this might be an improvement, at least) and the exploration element has been dialed back too far.
It's technically competent and looks gorgeous, but it just doesn't have "it", at least in my opinion.
When I was little, I saw a old sci-fi show on TV, where a pair of astronauts were talking to some guy on a planet they'd landed on, and the guy revealed that the planet had had no atmosphere all along, and the astronauts immediately suffocated.
Dumb plot, yes, but it TERRIFIED little me for days. I thought I might suddenly discover I couldn't breathe and just die.
Anyway, I don't know much else (or even if I'm remembering it correctly) but if anyone knows the name...?
What's the most surprisingly cool piece of entertainment you've watched/played/read lately? Not something mainstream; something you stumbled on and it was unexpectedly great.
I've decided that for one month, all musical artists have to swap the style of clothing generally associated with their genre for that of another genre.
Country stars have to wear death metal outfits. Classical orchestras dress like K-pop bands. Goth bands gotta visually go Swing. Etc.
Train To Busan is THE zombie of all time, and I won't hear any arguments for Night, Dawn, of Day of the Dead. I am similarly deaf to arguments for the Walking Dead, Return of the Living Dead, and as to whatever else you're about to say lalalalala
Okay, I haven't finished Withering Rooms yet, but I have to shout it out already.
This one is great. It's a #horror#roguelite set in an ever-changing Victorian mansion in a nightmarish dream. You (an Alice wannabe called Nightingale) are being hunted by some of the most genuinely creepy undead I've seen in a while, while trying to craft spells, level up (by giving offerings rather than grinding) and find new items and weapons to help you survive.
Are there any legal professions whom you wouldn't even consider dating (or befriending, if you prefer)? No matter how much you seemed to get along, you wouldn't want them in your life?
World-curious Canadian. Author of pulptastic fantasy, dark fantasy and even a bit of sci-fi-lite!Mythology, folklore, indie games and horror movies are my jam, but this isn't a 'themed' account so I may talk about anything that's on my mind.
