I grew up with gas stoves and always loved them but then I lived in Japan and we had a gas heater. I questioned this, given it was an earthquake zone, but the residents assured me it was safe. That was until the Kobe earthquake where fires from gas lines burned the equivalent of 70 city blocks.

I've worked on human rights but progress there is slow and stalled most of the time. What is really needed is to stop politics and power being in the hands of the rich lobbyists. They made some laws here which helped a bit but it's so ingrained and even if the laws were made, there would be people sleazily giving each other money under the table so they can prosper while the world burns and coughs with COVID.
