Israel and Hamas extended the truce by another 24h. Just like that, dozens if not hundreds will not die.

And just like that, they can extend the truce by another 24h. And then another month. And then another year. And then for good.

This is absolutely feasible. It is within the realm of what is politically doable.

The Biden admin simply needs to use its massive leverage over the Netanyahu government and make it happen. That's it, that's all that is needed. Biden can choose to do this.

Germany 2023. The Nazi past is not past, and we need to stop kidding ourselves. White supremacy is alive and well in Germany. They may be focusing on Arabs, Muslims etc right now in their hatred, but they will always end up in antisemitism. Anyone who thinks the fight against antisemitism is separated from the fight against racism and islamophobia is simply deluded. White supremacy is a death cult and we are all in the same boat.

Given that the vast majority of antisemitic attacks in places like Germany, the US and France are being committed by the far right, those making accusations of antisemitism against anything Palestinian-related are not just intellectually dishonest but also actively complicit in downplaying the very real and serious threat of antisemitism.

Literal fascists from literal antisemitic parties like Marine Le Pen and Georgia Meloni are being given more benefit of the doubt than a random Arab or Muslim in the West right now, and it shows. It shows that, ultimately, a good chunk of Western media and politics remains committed to white supremacy - and I am sick and tired of anyone pretending otherwise.

And finally, once the dust is settled - which is a horrible metaphor when referring to Gaza here - we will have to reckon with the fact that less that eight decades after the Holocaust, the world's only Jewish state decided to commit a genocide and live-stream it for all to see.

The Biden administration is turning more and more to the right in its rhetoric. They are denying Palestinian deaths, which means they are giving the Israeli government permission to kill as many Palestinians as it wants.

The Biden admin is claiming that Gaza's Health Ministry is not reliable, but there is no evidence to back that up. The US State department always used those figures, and so do the UN and international human rights organisations.

In 3 weeks, Israel has killed 2,913 children. Just children. 7,028 Palestinians so far killed. And the numbers will increase significantly as so many people are currently buried under the rubble.

Every second not actively pushing for an immediate ceasefire is further complicity in genocide.

This may not stop at Israel-Palestine, maybe even beyond Lebanon. The recklessness of the EU governments, of Switzerland, of the US, the UK, and so many more is one for the history books.

Our child was born 6 days ago. She's 3 months premature. A micro preemie. She's some 640g, 30 cm. Despite all of this, her odds are better everyday because she's being taken care of at a hospital that doesn't have the misfortune of being targeted by Israel's genocidal forces. Her Palestinian father, me, does not have to worry about her dying because of a lack of fuel. She has multiple doctors and nurses looking after her 24/7.

Gazans do not. This is a genocide. Israel is committing genocide.

Israel's bombing of Al Ahli Arabi Baptist Hospital has already killed hundreds with hundreds more still under the rubble. They bombed babies, pregnant women, people in the middle of their operations.

MSF doctor via the guardian: "We were operating in the hospital, there was a strong explosion, and the ceiling fell on the operating room. This is a massacre."

Israel is committing a genocide and anyone in denial of this is fucking complicit.

Everyone we know in Gaza is running from place to place seeking shelter that does not exist.

There is no refuge for the helpless, no respite for the innocent.

Israel has built a living hell on Earth for children to live and die in.

Whatever your politics, you have to understand this.

The ease in which humans can be erased from existence is going to affect us all.

It's not physically possible for a million people to just leave one part of an open-air prison to another part of an open-air prison. What Israel is saying here is that they are giving a 'fair' warning to a million civilians before they unleash hell on Earth on top of their heads.

When I say that being this morally bankrupt makes you look like your enemies:

Hezbollah supporters infamously posted videos of themselves eating food while Hezbollah was besieging Syrian cities. Here you got Israelis doing the same to Gazans.

I'm grieving for civilians on 'both sides' and I'm terrified that yet another genocide has been given the green light. Both Hamas and Israel have proved that they don't give two f- about civilians, but only one of those two is heavily armed and actively being backed by even more heavily armed governments. There must be immediate de-escalation or this will continue and get even more out of control.
