@ironchamber seems you need to create a temporary *file* to make it all work, not just the containing dir.

Some notes:
- the `tempdir` crate hasn't been updated in 6 years and is marked as deprecated. I suggest `tempfile` instead.
- assert_eq!(a,b) gives more insightful error messages as opposed to assert!(a==b)
- an environment configured tracing_subscriber can be initialized with less typing: `tracing_subscriber::fmt::init()`
