I've saved exactly three textbooks from my undergraduate education, as totems of my electrical engineering roots. Although I was never a chip designer, my first couple jobs after graduation were adjacent in the semiconductor industry. Conway & Mead was a classic at the time.

The backlog on my household kanban board is the shortest it's ever been. Currently it has four cards, and I expect to do two of them tomorrow.
I'm starting to freak out. The notion of an empty backlog is causing serious anxiety. Do I wink out of existence if I have no backlog?

You may have heard that Houston schools plan to convert libraries to disciplinary centers and fire the librarians.
What you may not have heard is that the State of Texas took over the Houston school district and installed its own superintendent.
That's the guy who is closing libraries. This is not something local residents want, and the superintendent is not locally accountable,
