@dave openSCAD is great. A programmer by trade and spent a lot of time in AutoCAD in my youth. I felt right at home.

You can do a lot with the app The scripting is especially powerful. I used it to randomly layout tile models for the surface of the Death Star.

@dave finally project was a coffee table with a 4" deep trench complete with Luke's X-Wing, Vader's TIE. And escorts.

These were models someone else published, each square a reproduction of a part of the original bigature from a new hope. I generated 4 x 4 arrays, randomly selected, rotated and mirrored. I then printed them on my Prusa Mini.

@dave i lost track, but fair to say it was more than 200 hours of printer time at a mid range print quality. It's all PLA, might be one or two bits of PETG, but only to use up scraps.
