As I enter the final leg of my career, I’m starting to feel “lazy”. But I’m grappling with the concept that “lazy” might be a relative term rather than an absolute. I’m guessing people were told they were “lazy” when they didn’t want to work six-day weeks, wanted paid annual leave, and more recently when they wanted to work from home during Covid (by Rees-Mogg, in between his naps on the front bench). Just a thought to digest.

Depressed. Legs have been hurting when I go on long walks so I apparently appear to limp. Friends now pushing their favourite health fad on me. I’ve done most of these over the last thirty-five years. It’s hard to listen to and remain cheerful.

I’m on a weekend away with sone friends and some of them have had such charmed lives with wonderful things that have happened to them. Mine has been a collection of bad days and ok days. I know life isn’t fair but right now it really hits me how much I’ve missed out on by not being someone else.

Just been trying to install software on #Ubuntu to write a new bootable USB from an ISO (because there’s a new version of Ubuntu itself out). Really difficult! There was an app in the store (which crashed when I tried to use it) and websites with things called Balena and PowerISO which I downloaded and couldn’t install (need to learn more). I was about to give up and do it with Windows when I found out the ISO-to-USB ability is baked into Ubuntu. Phew. But it highlights how much I need to learn.

Just woke up from a depressive dream where I failed every task put to me by a friend who just wanted to prove to me that I was capable and valuable, thereby proving the opposite. I hate my brain sometimes. #Depression

I’d like to go for a walk today as I think my body’s forgetting how to do that. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates. Finally got the hybrid’s number plates changed back from my private ones so now the car just needs a clean up before I look to trade it in for an electric.
