So horrible twitter has hidden what people like. Privacy masterstroke? Not quite. Now Elon's shit palace will empower people that would otherwise feel a basic normal societal pressure not to like and boost the vile shit they secretly like. The platform is about to enter a properly unhinged stage, more so than it has been previously. Racists, weirdo stuff and freak porn will be massively boosted by people who think they can now get away with condoning it in secret.
Mastodon seems like the place to ask. So I'm a little indie musician guy. I'm slowly replacing Twitter with here, I've been using Bandcamp but am unhappy with large corporations buying and selling it - so I got a Faircamp (no sales yet but I haven't been pushing it!). What are alternatives to other large sites. Is Peertube a good YouTube alternative? What about email? If there's one thing I've noticed about Mastodon -I know there's a whole world of ultra computer nerds on here, and I salute you.
This month Mastodon gave me the most Bandcamp Friday sales out of any platform. I would like to think this is because the platform has a higher more brainy more arty and cultured user base than 4chan-lite 'X' and the other places, but in reality/addition it's because of certain lovely people here who shared my posts, and I appreciate that a lot. Bandcamp Friday has paid for my food shopping this week, that's pretty amazing, thank you.
