"i spent all my time & money doing mutual aid, please pay my rent or else homeless people will die" is an organizing strategy that should be avoided.

So many of these mutual aid groups that feed homeless people aren't functionally different from charities. I'd argue many are worse. At least you know the church will have a meal every week. A lot of these MA groups just fuck off after 6 months or change their days without telling anyone.
To me that says these projects are more about making the activists feel good than it is about a revolutionary project, or even just meeting people's needs.

It's whack how co-opted food not bombs has gotten.
My local partners with a church and serves meat, and previously partnered with an anti-gay church.
