@taoeffect@crib.social a server named "misskey" that doesn't use misskey but their own private fork doesn't talk to your server and you're dumping the entire software over it?
@taoeffect@crib.social Anyways, the fork of misskey dot io who are - again - just a big server that uses a private fork of misskey but who are not controlling or owning the misskey project (the lead dev of misskey does have their main account there, so maybe that is causing you confusion?) has a github repo for said fork here: https://github.com/MisskeyIO/misskey
But I wouldn't count on them being responsive to you, misskey.io are a bit ... insular.
@taoeffect@crib.social but still, I am hurt by your assertion that misskey-the-software was somehow unrecommendable just because its biggest server (which isn't even using the actual software) is misbehaving.
@taoeffect@crib.social also no, misskey does not ship with a "block certain software" setting. Isn't that kind of discriminatory fucking with federation exclusively in the domain of Pleroma and their MRF functionality?
in my opinion, any account that disseminates official updates about a project has to forfeit all rights to privacy controls and read access limitation
this also means that official project announcements MUST NOT be made from a person's account and that web frontend access MUST be possible and RSS/ATOM STRONGLY SHOULD be available. Following from fedi SHOULD also be possible, with absolutely no limitations if the software makes this possible. Defederation in a way that prevents off topic and otherwise unfitting replies from landing on the instance should be possible in Misskey and forks at least from what I understand. If that's not possible PLEASE provide RSS/ATOM.
Also if you put #nobridge#noindex etc on your official project account or enable similar flags in the account settings wtf are you even doing.
@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world@feditips@mastodon.social.fraudulent.link software that makes me spend more time trying to compress my sentences while trying to keep nuance than actually writing what i want to say is inherently harmful. Especially as a non-native English speaker. At least that's how using twitter feels to me
@chjara@akko.wtf earlier this year i actually wrote a translation from IEEE754 to an old proprietary floating point format used in industrial equipment that uses sign-magnitude for both the exponent and the mantissa - differently than IEEE754 does it
