1. Top of steel plate that has been riveted to the rest of large rail bridge below. Half circle domes of rivet tops are glistening in the rain, their surfaces are pocked from decades of water and rust. The steel panel itself is covered in a thin layer of water and is shades of brown. Close to the camera two drops of rain have fallen, concentrate circles expanding from the center divot in the beam's water.

1. Black cat in a bucky ball fort, a geodesic sphere made out of hexagons and pentagons, that looks out (and down) at the rest of us with our uninteresting lives and takes pity. Although, he would appreciate some wet cat food if you're going upstairs anyways. p.s. the structure is 3d printed out of triangles that are then connected into the hexagon and pentagon shapes that are then connected more or less alternating to make a soccer ball (football for non US folks) shape. Some are semi-transparent white, some purple, some black. There's brown legs at the bottom holding it up. The whole assembly is on top of a water heater because cats like heat, ya know?

1. On top of an old rotted log there's a patch of rich, green moss. On top of the moss is what looks like an endless patch of tiny tan parasol type mushrooms with dark brown/reddish stems and a light tan veined caps. iNat suggests it is Cross-veined Troop Mushroom.

1. A round street drain as reflected by the water inside. The round grate is divided into a half circle withe long rounded rectangles. In the center there is a hole and you can see the round rectangle of a phone held so the lens is centered within, pointing down for the photo. The water reflecting all of this is mostly smooth at top half of frame, while it gets more rippled the further down we go, most likely a small pipe is dripping water in that corner. Outside, above the drain are some green leaves from a nearby tree, the sky is mostly white, just a tint of blue in the lower left.

1. Looking across an uphill expanse of sage brush and other arid Wyoming plants. Poking above a larger bush on the hillside are some strange looking lobes. On closer examination they are the giant ears of three local deer, tuned to the not-so-silent sounds we are making, deciding if it is enough to warrant breaking cover to make a run for it.

1. A very old, rotting stump of a large tree cut down a long time ago but carrying on hosting mosses and lichens, and probably the odd mushroom or two over time. The moss on top looks like a green toupee and an old knothole/branch stub like a nose.

1. The winter of 2017 when we got a lot of snow by February. One of the old swings in the back yard has a good 6-8” of snow accumulated on top and the snow on the ground is coming right up near the bottom of it. The photo looks across an expanse of white snow in the backyard towards the blurry woods, with trees also dealing with layers of accumulated snow.

1. Top of Mt Washington in New Hampshire above most of the clouds and looking over at Tuckerman Ravine where clouds seem to be getting sucked down. Most of the terrain is scraggly, brutal looking granite with small patches of grasses getting by in the few flat openings.

Light snow on this morning's ride and 23°F/-5C. Brought a friend's dji neo to see how it handles woods and snow. Not bad. I had to fetch it a couple times and found myself calling it "buddy" like DC Rainmaker does is his reviews.

1. One of the brothers has totally different rules when laying down, often stretching neck way out or, as in this case, smashing face into the blanket. This is a half-smashed face mode, the other half of face has eye open and is looking at us. Who knows the mind of the cat?

1. A rise in the terrain which, based on exposed rock face, may mean it’s all the top of a rocky spine. But that’s not what we’re looking at, we’re marveling at the tree which grew up sprawled across this rock with large roots headed out in at least two directions to balance itself. But even that isn’t as unusual as what happened to the trunk somewhere along the line many decades ago when it tried to grow, got bent over (tree fell?), then ran into an obstacle or two (more downed trees?) and finally did a complete 360° turn back to upright leaving a knotted twist between roots and the main trunk
