Ruins of Nysa Library, Aydın - Türkiye :

The Library, which is one of the well-preserved examples of Anatolia, points out that Menderes Nysa is a city of education and culture. The library, which was built on the west side of the city around 130 AD, had 2 floors, 16 bookshelves, and 6 archive rooms on the second floor, accessed by wooden corridors.

Ruins of Dunlough Castle situated atop a cliff by the shore of a lake, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Dunlough, a 13th Century AD, castle founded by Donagh O’Mahony. Built in 1207 AD, it is one of the oldest castles in southern Ireland.

A jade burial suit a ceremonial suit made of pieces of jade in which royal members in Han Dynasty China were buried. Suit is constructed of 4248 custom cut jade pieces connected by gold wire. Jade suits were first documented in literature around 320 AD.

During Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD), members of imperial family were buried in jade burial suits. Jade was believed to possess magical properties that would protect body from decay and ward off evil spirits.

Interior of the Orient Express :

Orient Express was a long-distance passenger train service created in 1883 by Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL) that operated in Europe until 2009.

Presently Venice-Simplon Orient Express train, a private venture by Belmond using original CIWL carriages from 1920s-1930s, continues to run from London to Venice and to other destinations in Europe, including original route from Paris to İstanbul.

The snowy Diósgyőr Castle in Hungary :

The castle was built in 12th Century CE, it was destroyed during the Mongolian invasion in 1241–1242 CE.

The castle that stands today was probably built by King Béla IV, who, after the Mongols left the country, ordered a castle to be built on practically every hilltop.

Diver touching 'Two Continents', between North America and Europe, Silfra, Iceland.

Silfra a fissure between North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park. Rift was formed in 1789 AD by earthquakes accompanying divergent movement of two tectonic plates.

Diving and snorkeling site at Silfra is right where two continents meet and drift apart about 2cm per year. Silfra, only place in the world where you can dive or snorkel directly in a crack between two tectonic plates

One of the 4000-year-old well-preserved wagons unearthed in the Lchashen village in the vicinity of Lake Sevan. Made of oak, they are the oldest known wagons in the world.

Now on display at the History Museum of Armenia.

A 1400 year old Ginkgo Biloba tree shows every November an autumn display, shedding his golden leaves, that attracts thousands of people from all over the country. The ancient tree grows behind a Buddhist Temple next to Gu Guanyin in the Zhongnan Mountain Region of China.

Species is believed to have appeared several hundred million years ago (fossilized remains have been found) and thought to be extinct, until a specimen was discovered by a German naturalist in late 1600s.

Historical Photograph taken in 1864 AD, shows a group of Japanese samurai standing in front of the Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt. This jolting image messes with our sense of history – the traditional Japanese clothes, the ancient Egyptian monument, and the European camera just don’t seem to add up. As unexpected as this combination may be, the 160 year-old photograph highlights a pivotal moment in the history of Japan and the globalized world.

During 1990s Economic Crisis, Russian teachers were paid with Vodka bottles, instead of cash made sense when actual currency was almost worthless. As USSR collapsed and hyperinflation soared, Russians referred to rubles as “Wooden” money

In 1998, authorities in one Siberian district gave 8000 school teachers 15 bottles apiece, in lieu of wages. According to report, had been toilet paper & coffins, but vodka is favored as only thing that could be freely sold or exchanged for bread and other food

Digital Reconstruction of the Ishtar Gate, largest of the 8 gates of Babylon (now in modern-day Iraq), built approximately 2500 years ago during reign of Babylonian King Nabuchadnezzar II.

Since the star of Ishtar, the goddess of love and beauty, is 8-pointed, the city of Babylon was also built with 8 gates. Because Ishtar's eyes are blue, the door is also blue.
