Seeing posts about FWA being a terrible experience for disabled attendees, and I need to bluntly state that furry convention runners not only do not care about disabled people attending, but have actively made the choice to make it harder for us to attend.

If that statement sounds harsh or alarming, consider how the furry fandom is literally over a decade behind compared to other fandom conventions when it comes to having disability policies and basic disability services at their events.

Having consulted for over 10 furry conventions about accessibility over the years, I have personally seen how my free labor was actively wasted as no suggestions made were implemented by the majority of groups that asked me to volunteer my time for free. These folks just want to look like they are doing good, not actually do good.

Furry convention runners have decided the added monetary and mental energy expenses needed to allow disabled attendees to enjoy their events safely is not worth spending. They have done this because the majority of their attendees do not raise a fuss about this, signalling they too are okay with this choice.

There's a reason that while I love furry art and culture, I stay away from fandom spaces these days. Furry fandom as a whole is hostile to disabled people. I hope someday, that will change,

You might have seen a post being shared around saying Canada has opened up its suicide hotline to American citizens with Trump threatening a shutdown of ours in the US.

The number it links to is the Trans Helpline. This is likely a right wing attempt to try to flood and overwhelm the hotline and hurt trans people.

Please be careful and check on this before you share them. And if you see an account for a Jeras Ikehorn which seems to be bridged here from Bluesky, know this is the second time in several weeks they have blatantly shared misinformation that harms trans people.

If there was anywhere to find a programming person interested in an extremely niche challenge... It's gotta be Fedi, right?

I've been wanting a way to play specific levels of Super Mario Bros. Special to practice speedrunning them. Like, I can choose which level the game loads into so I can work on playing the game well without having to grind my way there every time.
