update on the owncast project:
friends were getting bad buffering, cried lots at @puniko for help, found out server was only getting 10mbit for its ethernet :akko_woozy:
luckily neighbor works installing cable/internet so had extra rj45 connectors/tools/etc -- i learned how to replace them and now im getting full 1000mbit :happyday:

im halfway tempted to just go back to unlisted youtube streams but i do kinda want owncast to work >w<, im too shy to do like public streaming so it seemed really cozy to have this like, semi-private little thing.. pwp mayb i poke them

owncast is working wonderfully :happyday: thank you everyone that offered advice aaa, im still learning so a lot of this just hurts my brain. i didnt even realize owncast was a federated thing, dunnyo if ill turn it on, kinda scary >W<

ive been trying to figure out a good alternative to googles suite for a while now actually, i wanted to self host one but i don't trust myself enough with data backup/safety on my server yet to host something like that. the dream is to get a hetzner storage share...
